As a result of forming this Friendship Association, Miwako and I were able to bring 3 groups of Japanese seniors to Surrey. Two members of this Friendship Association and myself met with Mayor McCullum. He was very interested in our future plans and he encouraged our effort in cultural exchange. He was pleased that members of the Surrey community had this opportunity to participate in our programs.

At this meeting we presented mayor McCullum with a letter from the mayor of Takarazuka city in Japan.
